What is MyEngDesk?

MyEngDesk is a modular engineering calculator for process and piping engineers. Each module covers a specific calculation, including pipe sizing, PED classification, wall thickness, thermal expansion, and more. Selected modules use a backend calculation API while the frontend keeps the workflow fast and interactive.

How do I use a module?

Select a module from the Module dropdown at the top. Fill in the inputs and results update automatically. Each module has a help button that explains the method, formulas, inputs, and results in detail.

Pipe and component databases

The built-in databases cover common pipe sizes, schedules, and piping components for fast lookup and preliminary engineering checks. Always verify values against the project standard, manufacturer catalogue, and applicable specification before procurement or fabrication.

Units

Units can be switched globally in Settings. Available presets include SI metric, US customary, and UK/mixed where supported by the active module.

Applicable codes

Where referenced, calculations follow methodologies from EN 13480, ASME B31.3, API 2000, ISO standards, and EN 1993. Compliance with specific project codes and standards remains the sole responsibility of the user and their engineering organisation.

Methodology

Calculations use commonly applied engineering methods and references such as EN 13480, ASME B31.3, PED 2014/68/EU, API 2000, EN 1993, and standard fluid mechanics or structural beam theory where relevant. Results are intended for fast engineering screening and must be verified by a qualified engineer before use in design documentation.
